Don't forget that you don't know what the future holds. But as you experience hardships, you'll learn from them and you'll be able to see what's really important to you. There won't be anything to be afraid of.

Christian manages to coerce Lily into helping him by relaying any information on anything resembling suspicious meetings. It's likely she passed information to him via pigeon-mail (not by letters in books as might be suggested by the image). Lily probably only managed to travel (by foot or hitchhiking on a bandwagon if she was lucky) to Roandon. She actually "accidentally" overheard that the rebels were exchanging information inside the library and well, passed what vague information she could.

"<sub>Lily pursed her lips, waiting stiffly in the coach while Christian instructed his driver. At first she was mortified when Christian asked that the driver circle around the city, how long was Christian expecting to scold her? It wasn't as if she was a (completely) naive child; she had managed perfectly well travelling on her own up until now. When she heard Christian request that the driver take the scenic route, she smiled and relaxed a little. Had Christian asked on purpose to humor her, knowing she'd probably ignore half of what he was about to reprimand her? Or perhaps he was simply being the gentleman she knew him to be. Either way, she appreciated the gesture. At least she'd get to see Serasque for it's entirety.

"First, I need to know if I can trust you."

Lily nearly choked upon hearing this statement. Gathering back her composure, she gave her response, with a tint of ire.

"Christian, I mean, Sir Christian. I realize my conduct is quite questionable for a lady of my stature, and perhaps you have noticed that I am not exactly on the friendliest terms with my family, but I never expected you would consider me suspect of any sort of disloyalty. I can assure you, I would never consider betraying the king or my country." She paused. "I hope you shall not ask such a ridiculous question of me again." She sat back into the seat and crossed her arms in almost childlike anger.</sub>"

WIPs & Technical details:

Tools: Photoshop CS4
- 1pt brush and the pen tool for inking (yes, it was a terrible idea)
- For the bushes, to make the effect of sun peeking through the leaves, I created a multiple layer and randomly painted green and then erased clumps. I played around with the contrast to make the colors come out more vibrantly.
